This is a continuation in a series of posts about #30daysofthankfulness! See the previous two installments here:
#15 – Clam Chowder Festival. My favorite day of the year must be Columbus Day, thanks to the Montauk Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Clam Chowder Festival. I eat more than my share of clam chowder, catch up with friends who I haven’t seen in 6 weeks, and just enjoy the most amazing place on Earth. I’m so lucky to have this day every fall.
#16 – My Aunt Christine and Uncle Richie. I’m so lucky to have people in my life who love me unconditionally, are there for me any time of day or night, and have no obligation to whatsoever. They have no biological relation to me, but are as close to me as family!
#17 – I’m thankful for acceptance. I’ve been accepted with open arms into both the Bridgewater and Roxbury communities as a result of my internship. I feel as if I’m a member of the staff and that I completely belong there. I feel as if the activities that go on in the community are inclusive of the ‘stray’ New Milfordite as well. Being wholeheartedly accepted is something that not many people are able to experience, so I’m very lucky to feel that I’m such a part of the Region 12 community.
#18 – I’m so lucky to have plenty of food in my house- often more than I could ever need! Many people go to bed hungry or are extremely malnourished. Not only do I have more than enough to eat, but I live with very talented cooks! (You can tell that my mom’s favorite thing to keep in stock in our house is sour cream!)
#19 – My siblings. I know I covered my ‘family’ before, (they were #1 on the list!) but my brother and sister most definitely deserve their own acknowledgement. Ashley and Peter are incredible siblings. They’re always there for me, have my back, and are more than happy to share a laugh at my expense. Through thick or thin, up or down, I know that they will be there for me- as I will be there for them. I’m really lucky to share my DNA with such great people. Although I don’t tell them as often as I should, I really love the two of them!
#20 – My study abroad experience. I was talking to someone at work the other day about how amazing my time in Bonaire was, and how much of an impact it made on me as a person. I discovered my inner independence. I genuinely fell in love with SCUBA diving. I met some amazing people. I can’t imagine not having those memories. I reflect back on how much fun and how much I learned there close to every day. I’m so grateful for my time there, it played a significant role in making me who I am today.
#21 – Jeffrey & Scott. My two cousins are the COOLEST cats I know! I wish I could see them more often than I do, but I’m very excited that I get to see them for Thanksgiving! They are smart, funny, and incredibly talented with their music! When the 5 of us get together, there is bound to be bonding, insanity, and the occasional sleepover out on the deck. I’m super thankful for these two amazing kids.
