So today was a big day. Camp orientation. Usually, I wouldn’t have anything but excitement for this day that I excitedly count down the days to annually. But this year, was a bit different- I’m not a counselor this year. I won’t have my own campers, and I won’t be at the same hierarchal level as my friends. I’m a supervisor/director of camp this year, and I couldn’t be more excited!
I wasn’t sure how my coworkers or friends would respond when someone so close in age to them was taking on a leadership role – but everything went swimmingly. Luckily, I LOVE my boss. She is such a sweetheart and we have the same sense of humor and work ethic. It’s occasionally scary how we are so similar. Same phrases at the same time. I am so excited to be working alongside her this summer. I’m SO happy I’m back at camp this year. It’s going to be different, but I anticipate it to be wonderfully different. I’ll update as the summer progresses, but I have a feeling that this is going to be a perfect example of how change is not always a bad thing. :)
